mitten im trubel des zinefest wird es in diesem workshop einen moment der ruhe geben. zeit, um gedanken schweifen zu lassen und sich kreativ auszuspinnen. in diesem workshop wird geschrieben. nelo bringt verschiedene schreibaufgaben mit. es wird keine ausführliche einführung in das kreative schreiben geben und keine langen theorie diskussionen.
wenn ihr fragen und lust auf austausch habt, gibt es hier dennoch raum dafür. egal ob ihr reinschnuppern wollt oder regelmässig schreibt, dieser workshop ist offen für alle freund_innen von stift, wort und papier.
nelo schreibt selbst schon seit vielen jahren und liebt es, anderen raum zu geben, sich selbst auszuprobieren.

creative writing and no long abstract discussions. nevertheless there will be space, if you have questions and want to swap ideas. no mater if you just wanna check out creative writing or write regularly: this workshop is open for all friends of pen, paper and words. nlo is writing herself for several years now and loves to create a room for people to

“Graphzines in Frankreich – die ersten Jahre”
Die Entstehung der Graphzines (Artzines) im Paris der 70er und 80 jahre, vorgestellt von einem Vertreter der Szene

Ich werde anhand sehr vieler Bildbeispiele die Entstehung der Graphzines in den 70er Jahren und die Entwicklung der 2. Generation in den 80er Jahren vorstellen und die Zusammenhänge der dortigen Szene erläutern. Vortragssprache: Deutsch (Fragen können in deutsch, englisch und französisch gestellt und beantwortet werden)

The creation of Graphzines (Artzines) in Paris in the ‘70s and ‘80s, brought to you by someone who was part of the scene.

I will explain how graphzines emerged in the ‘70s and developed as a 2nd generation in the ‘80s. I will also talk about the infrastructure of the local scenes. This will be held in German (Q and A can be in German, English, and French).

Learn to knit

This is a workshop for beginner knitters.
Participants will cover the basics of knitting, including CAST ON, KNIT, PURL and CAST OFF.
The aim will be for each participant to have created a square of knitting they can be proud of to take away.
Each participant will receive a mini hand out with what wAs covered in the workshop so they can continue the techniques after the workshop at home.
I will supply the needles for the participants to use in the class as well as the yarn.

Stricken lernen

Dies ist ein Workshop für Strick-Anfänger.
Teilnehmer werden die Grundlagen des Strickens lernen, inkl. AUFNEHMEN, STRICKEN, LINKS STRICKEN, ABLEGEN.
Das Ziel ist, dass jeder Teilnehmer ein gestricktes Quadrat auf das er stolz sein kann mit nach Hause nimmt. Jeder der mitmacht bekommt ein Handout mit den Inhalten des Kurses damit die Techniken auch später zu Hause weitergeübt werden können.
Das Garn und die Nadeln werden für die Dauer des Kurses von mir bereitgestellt.

Sending a regular email is like sending a postcard in the mail– anyone can read it, there is no protection or privacy. We know not just from the Arab Spring that knowledge in the wrong hands can have even deadly consequences if used i.e. against activists. But as we now
know thanks to Edward Snowden, the dangers of total surveillance are a threat to everyone who uses the Internet no matter what your political agenda is.
One way to fight back is to use cryptography.
Join us in this hands-on workshop in how to set up email encryption using PGP with your email account. We will discuss the harm of surveillance, how to empower ourselves with cryptography, and explain the basics of how a public and private keypair works. Then we’ll turn on our computers and go through step-by-step instructions in setting up PGP email encryption. Bring your laptop if you have one, we will have internet access and plugs for cables. You don’t need a computer to participate, but one of the goals is to have people leave the workshop with email encryption set up and ready to go. Don’t know a thing about computer stuff? Do you feel lost in all this digital mess? Don’t worry! We are not super-experts, we just want to create a safer space to ask questions about all this nerdy stuff and hack together.
Even so this isn’t the focus of this workshop we also can give you tips how to encrypt other means of communication like chats or texts.

Eine normale eMail ist wie eine Postkarte, jede_R kann sie ohne großen Aufwand lesen – es gibt keinen Schutz der Privatsphäre. Nicht erst seid dem Arabischen Frühling wissen wir, dass Wissen in den falschen Händen z.B. für Aktivist_Innen sogar tödliche Folgen haben kann. Doch wie wir dank Edward Snowden wissen, ist die Totale Überwachung eine Bedrohung für alle von uns egal mit welcher politischen Agenda.

Eine Möglichkeit gegen zu halten ist mit der Nutzung von Kryptographie. Nimm an unseren Workshop teil um zu lernen wie mensch eMail Verschlüsslung mit der Hilfe von PGP einrichtet. Wir werden die Gefahr die von Überwachung ausgeht diskutieren und beschreiben wie wir uns mit Hilfe von Kryptografie empowern können und wie asymetrische Verschlüssung mit öffentlichen Schlüsseln funktioniert.
Dann schalten wir unsere Computer an und werden Schritt für Schritt durchgehen wie mensch eMail Verschlüsslung mit PGP einrichtet. Also bringt eure Laptops mit, wir haben Steckdosen und Internet Zugang. Natürlich braucht ihr keine Computer um am Workshop teilzunehmen aber Ziel ist es, dass nach dem Workshop alle Menschen fertig funktionierende Verschlüsslung haben. Keine Ahnung von Computer Scheiß? Du fühlst dich verloren im digital Chaos? Keine Angst! Wir sind keine total durchgedrehten Experten, wir wollen nur einen Raum schaffen im dem sich alle wohl fühlen fragen über diese nerdigen Dinge zu stellen und zusammen hacken können.
Auch wenn es nicht Fokus dieses Workshops ist können wir natürlich auch Tips zum Verschlüsseln anderer Kommunikationswege geben.

Wie die Produktion zur Nebensache wurde – Ein Blick zurück aus der Zukunft

Ein Blick zurück aus einer nicht allzu fernen Zukunft, in der die Ideen der commonsbasierten Peer-Produktion über die Welt des Internets hinausgewachsen sind und auch im “real life” Produktion wie Reproduktion dezentral, nicht hierarchisch und auf Freiwilligkeit basierend organisiert werden. Technisch ist die Utopie dabei bewusst zurückhaltend – alle beschriebenen Technologien funktionieren im Grundsatz schon heute. Die gesellschaftlichen Folgen sind hingegen radikal.

“Früher dachten die Menschen anscheinend, dass die Gesellschaft ohne Zwang nicht funktionieren könnte, weil dann niemand etwas für andere Nützliches machen würde. Zwang wurde in verschiedenen Formen ausgeübt, am häufigsten wohl in Form von ‘Geld’. Geld war so etwas wie Spielchips. Was wir nur aus Spielen kennen, brauchte man damals zum Überleben. Die meisten konnten es nur als Belohnung für Arbeit bekommen, und wer nicht genug von diesen Geld-Chips hatte, war vom gesellschaftlich produzierten Reichtum ganz oder großteils ausgeschlossen. Das ging so weit, dass immer wieder Menschen verhungert sind, weil es ihnen an Geld fehlte!”

How the production process became a side issue — An analysis from the future

A look back from a not-too-distant future, when ideas of commons-based peer production have expanded beyond the realm of the internet: production and reproduction have become decentralised, and are no longer hierarchical but purely voluntary in real life as well. Technically, utopia is modest on purpose — all technologies are already well-functioning today. The social aftermath, however, is radical.

“Back in the day, people seemed to think that a society without compulsion could not work since no one would do anything of use for anyone else. Compulsion was created in different ways — mostly in the form of ‘money’. ‘Money’ was something similar to gambling chips. What we know only as part of a game was crucial for survival. Most people could only earn it as a reward for work, and whoever didn’t have enough of it was excluded from the wealth of society. Worst case scenario: people even starved to death because they did not have enough ‘money’ back then.”

Funkfabrik B – dein Radio für Punks, Hörer & Menschen (und Hunde!) öffnet die Mikros: denn Radio ist sowas wie ein Zine, zwar ohne Papier und Farbe, hat aber durchaus auch seine schönen Seiten. Und das möchten wir mit euch teilen. In wenigen Stunden basteln wir mit euch eine Sendung direkt und live auf dem Zinefest 2014. Weil so schwer ist Radio nicht, hört man ja. Sei dabei und schöpfe mit: Redaktionskonferenz, Sendeuhr, Beitragsproduktion, Interview, Ramptalk und die beste Musik aus euren (mitgebrachten) Speichermedien. Schöne Radioworte, die in eine Stunde Live-Programm umgesetzt werden möchten. Die fertige Zine-Sendung wird dann am Mittwoch, den 19. November auf den freien Radios Berlin, Hamburg und Halle ausgestrahlt.

Funkfabrik B – your radio station for punks, listeners & humans (and dogs!) opens the mics: ’cause radio is something like a zine but without paper and ink. We want to share our program with you, because starting a radio show is as easy as listing to it. Within a couple of hours we want to produce a full show directly at the Zinefest 2014. Be a part of it and create some good stuff like: kickoff meeting, time schedule, report production, interviews, ramptalks and the very best music of your own storage media. Beautiful radio buzzwords that will be squeezed in to our one-hour-show. The finished zine-show will be broadcasted on november 19th on the community radios in Berlin, Hamburg and Halle.

DDR-Untergrundcomics

Auch in der DDR gab es einen Comic-Untergrund. Aufgrund der besonderen Umstände suchten und fanden EinzelkämpferInnen und Kollektive besondere Druck- und Verbreitungsmöglichkeiten für ihre Comic-Werke. Ob als Beilage zu Kunstmappen, als Theaterprogramme und -eintrittskarten, als kircheninterne Informationen, kopierte Einzelblätter oder Druckgrafik – nicht nur die organisatorischen Lösungen, sondern auch die Grafik waren oftmals ziemlich eigenständig.
Peter Auge Lorenz von der Berliner Comicbibliothek “Renate” gibt in seinem Vortrag Einblick in die Comicszene der DDR und beschreibt deren Eintritt in die gesamtdeutsche Comiclandschaft, mit Beispielen, Heftchen und Wachsmatrizen.
